How to setup the Icom 7200 for the digital amateur radio modes.
ICOM IC-7200 via USB
1. Turn OFF Noise Reduction [NR], Noise Blanker [NB], and Automatic Notch Filter [ANF].
2. Using the Filter button, set the filter to Wide. You will see [W] indicated near the top of the display.
3. Set the radio to Digital Mode as follows:
a. Press and hold the SET button about 1 second.
b. Select DATA by turning the M-CH knob (lower right of front panel).
c. Turn DATA On by turning the VFO knob.
d. Press the SET button to exit the menus.
You will see [D] appear just to the right of the frequency, Indicating that the IC-7200 is now in Digital Mode.
4. Now start FLDigi.
In FLDigi at the top click the Configure menu, then the Rig tab, then under that, click Hamlib.
There, click Use Hamlib.
In Rig, select "Icom IC-7200 (Beta)"
Device, select the correct comport for your audio device, which is the sound card in the 7200, Silicon Labs CP-2102.
Baud rate 19,200 came up automatically and is grayed out. You can't adjust it.
Click "Initialize"
Now you should be able to transmit with the USB cable only.
